Green Space Dark Skies
The brief:
In 2020 as part of Unboxed Festival, Walk the Plank were commissioned to be part of a nation-wide moment of inclusive mass-participation, taking the form of 10 unmissable events and experiences in places and spaces across the UK.
They brought Extraordinary Bodies into the process to ensure their project was accessible to all.
Directed by Jamie Beddard and Billy Alwen, this was a celebration of the outdoors and our relationship with our environment. It saw hundreds of Lumenators carrying low impact lights through a stunning and unique environment. The event included a choir, choreography, unique soundtrack and spoken word, and of course some breathtaking circus in the open air.
Massive congratulations to the brilliant team of disabled and non-disabled, professional and participatory artists, dance, theatre and circus specialists, choirmaster and choirs and the ‘Lumenators’ to create such a beautiful spectacle!
