After originally collaborating on a commission for Leicester’s Diwali Celebrations in 2016, we’re delighted to be working once again with one of the UK’s leading contemporary Kathak dance companies, Sonia Sabri Company.
Together we are creating an atmospheric and thoughtful new small-scale outdoor show for performance after dark, exploring dance styles, video projections, and parallels between humankind’s relationships with nature and technology.
Our new show will be choreographed by Sonia Sabri and directed by Cirque Bijou’s Julian Bracey. It’ll also feature video projection by Bristol based video design studio Limbic Cinema.
Supported by Birmingham Hippodrome, we tried out some early stage ideas in November 2018 and are set to begin R&D on the show in April 2019. We hope to premiere the show in October 2019 ready to tour in 2020.
