Take a look behind the scenes at our Aerial Drum Battle rehearsals
In 2025 we were commissioned to provide the entertainment for a punk themed private event in London in December. We wanted the attendees to experience the kinetic energy of raucous live punk music but with a Cirque Bijou twist. Instead of a battle of the bands we wanted a battle of the drummers . . . in the air!
With the help of professional drummer, Rhian Williams, we set about designing a rig to hold a full drum kit up high. And a way that the performers could play whilst suspended in a harness.

For the final show we wanted two battling drummers either side of the venue. With a third professional drummer, Craig Connet, on stage in the middle as referee.
The battling drummers would have two distinct characters and personalities. Rhian would be a dark gothic rebel and the opponent, Vicky Osterberg, would be a neon sparkly crowd pleaser.

We chose some iconic drum tracks for the battle and set up 3 rounds for the drummers to go head to head. The rigs would be decorated and lit at the event to show the two performers personalities. Their costume designs will also make the two characters instantly distinguishable. This meant that they could play around with their persona’s during rehearsals. The Prospect Building in Bristol was the perfect site for our rehearsals.

We will hopefully be able to share some photos of the costumes and final show in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled on our socials for updates. Here is some behind the scenes footage from our Aerial Drum Battle rehearsals from our Youtube Channel.
