Cirque Bijou like to mix things up. From stunning artistic creations for rock concerts to seamlessly produced large scale shows in community recreation grounds, we seek out the new, unusual and surprising, drawing on the thousands of relationships we have built across the live entertainment, theatre and production industries since 1999. To this breadth of experience and formidable network we add passion, creativity and sky-high production values.
Howie is our inhouse video wizard, creating live-mixed backdrops, beautiful digital accompaniments to our live shows and his speciality 3D video mapping which he projects straight onto our Project 3Sixty set. He's good with websites and stuff like that, and throws a mean yoyo too.
Tom joins Cirque Bijou as projects assistant during a busy and diverse season that sees him managing teams of artists and crew, helping rig tightwires in forests, driving vans, creating enormous spreadsheets of important information, sourcing props, prizes and hotel rooms in far-flung places, and generally being a good egg and backing up our myriad show teams.
Geraldine is a listener, a watcher and a constructive critic. She has been working with Cirque Bijou since 2006 and is responsible for steering the company in the right direction and making sure that the Cirque Bijou message is communicated far and wide.
Sarah designed the eyecatching, inventive and award-winning costumes for our Battle for the Winds Olympic project, whilst completing an MA in Costume at AUB and finding time to design on other projects for us. She is also skilled at set and puppetry design, construction and workshops.
Anne is a fine artist and a dreamer, both of which make her a perfect member of the Cirque Bijou team! As Company Manager, her work is largely behind the scenes, ensuring the company runs smoothly from one exciting project to the next.
Vashti is an arts and events producer with more experience than you can shake a stick at. Her specialism is outdoor site specific events and festivals which actively promote community cohesion, and she is excited by providing platforms for artists, so we are very happy to have her on board at Cirque Bijou.
As our Production Manager, Kate is responsible for co-ordinating everything that goes on backstage - planning, organising and getting her hands dirty onsite in the creative, changeable and sometimes chaotic world of Cirque Bijou.
Julian obtained a degree in three dimensional design before travelling the world with a successful one man street show. Somewhere along the way he developed an unhealthy fascination of fire, pyrotechnics and circus. Julian is now co-director of Cirque Bijou.
Will is an artist/designer/maker who specialises in theatrical sets & props, site-specific installation, and artwork in the public realm. He makes many of our large scale sets and bespoke aerial equipment, creating artistic, unique, durable structures including Vera the Wind Vessel and the flying bridge from 'Weighting'.
A former political consultant, press officer and PR director, Billy ran away to the circus to perform flying trapeze, co-founding Cirque Bijou in 1999. Billy has developed CPD programmes for young artists, created shows in big tops, on beaches and off buildings and launched some of the largest retail developments in the UK.
Flo brings a design degree and general arty skills to assist her with sharing our news far and wide. This summer she was happily whizzing around our gigs adding a smile and meticulous production support.
It really was everything we hoped it might be and more. Vision and then the practical delivery of that vision to the highest of standards and integrity is always at the heart of your work!

An evening of superb heart-in-mouth acrobatics: a real narrative, some strong characters, and plenty of both beauty and humour. This show deserves a bigger, national audience.

Extraordinary Bodies is one of the real legacies of 2012 - ambitious work from an integrated company but accessible to a wide audience. I look forward to seeing how it will develop over the next year.
—Nick Green, relationship manager, Arts Council South West
I think it is very much a new way of presenting a (circus) project and it is very interesting that it is developed with the actual community as a focus.
—Nick Green, Arts Council South West
It worked well, the strength of it lay in involving the audience in a participatory way. And the back stories which were developed with the residents were well conceived.
—Audience member, pilot project
Cirque Bijou created and coordinated one of the most stunning opening night events that I have had the pleasure to work on. Billy and Julian are true professionals and innovative artists who deliver extraordinary events.
—Peter Conway - Creative Producer, 2009 Colston Hall Opening Celebration
Billy and Julian...You were open minded and prepared to change - a rare thing. You made DiverseCity in all our quirkiness part of your gang. I hope you like my assessment of you as brilliant, open minded and decent.
