
Cirque Bijou was commissioned by the Bristol City Council’s
Festivals Officer to create a new site-specific show for
a city centre space to tackle issues of binge drinking
in the City. The show was part of Bristol’s Safer
City Initiative. |

The Directors of Cirque Bijou and a Bristol based creative team
of artists, set and lighting designers and filmmakers wrote
a new show based on the seven deadly sins. Rehearsals were held
at Cirque Bijou’s creation space and on site. Set building
and scenic painting were produced on site.
Cirque Bijou’s production team liaised with the Council,
event safety team from Stage Electrics, Fire Brigade, and Ambulance
Service to produce health and safety and production plans for
the show.
A unique show with a mix of circus, street theatre, film and
music produced in St Nicholas Market, part of the Old City of
Bristol, for 800 people, during one evening in October 2004.
