Colston Hall Opening Celebrations03/12/09

On 18th September we presented a spectacular bespoke show for the launch of Colston Hall's new foyer. Commissioned by Bristol City Council, the atmospheric show featured specially composed music by the UK’s female beatbox champion Bellatrix, which she performed with her fantastic quintet the Boxettes, as well as superbly atmospheric music composed and performed by Simon McCorry on cello. Their performances accompanied a breathtaking new aerial duet that scaled the whole of the stunning new building’s façade, with a very funky and bright set of video projections as a backdrop, again created specially for the event by our super-talented video artist Kathy Hinde. We also helped to produce Andy Sheperd's Sax Massive, comprising of 100 saxophonists and Dholl drummers as part of the opening celebrations. Later in the evening we presented another brand new show in the main auditorium, working with Emerald Ensemble orchestra and Kate Webb, with students from Circomedia. The show combined live music with dance and circus to really showcase the breadth of Colston Hall’s offering.
