M Shed Launch

Cirque Bijou were commissioned to create and produce a spectacular outdoor show to launch the new M Shed museum on Bristol's historic docks. The show depicted a modern adaption of Bristol’s creation myth featuring the giants Goram and Vincent. Designed to be viewed from many harbourside viewpoints it was crucial that the show not only created interesting moments close up, but drama and visual impact from a distance. We designed and created a huge, bespoke 10m high metal M, using the docksides trains and cranes to move the huge structure as part of the show. We also utilised the cranes for rigging the aerial performance (pictured), as well as the pyronaught to bring a singer sailing along the harbour serenading the audience with a song written especially for the event.
