Outdoor Performance Awards of up to £3500 available 02/05/08

Cirque Bijou and Bristol City Council are offering an outdoor performance commission of up to £3,500 for professional artists living in the South West area.

                 

The award will be made to a solo artist or company wishing to create new cross-art form work for outdoor spaces. The funds are for artistic development and can include employing a director, choreographer, costume, props, music composition, for training, and rehearsal space. Support will also be provided by the Circus and Street Theatre Creative Producer, Theatre Bristol.

A criteria of the award is that the artist/s must perform at the EDF Energy Harbour Festival 2008 – 2nd and 3rd August. Successful artists may also be invited to perform at the Watch This Space Festival at the National Theatre in August 2008. Fixed appearance fees and travel expenses will be provided for both showcases.

If you would like to be considered for the award please submit a proposal of no more than 250 words giving details of the act/idea, a short biography, any related images or designs, and what you intend to do with the award.
