To create a spectacular show on the amphitheatre next to the
GLA HQ, on the on the bank of the Thames for The Lord Mayors
Greater Londoners award ceremony. The show was collaboration
between Pains Fireworks and Cirque Bijou

The creative team met with the GLA event coordinators to survey
the site, to which there were both negative and positive aspects.
Set on the South Bank it is undoubtedly one of the most impressive
backdrops in which to present a show but there are a lot of
complications in that it is a relatively small space, high security
area and public property.
We managed to conceal a crane and a large quantity of pyrotechnics
on the balcony away from the view of the audience. As the guests
entered the outdoor amphitheatre they were met by a solo musician
playing a musical saw. Suddenly the Helter Skelter stilt dancers
moved into the arena and performed a beautiful routine in the
amphitheatre. As they finished a solo silk performer was flown
over the balcony by the crane and performed above the audience
to a backdrop of stunning fireworks,
