To create a spectacular opening to Disney’s Children’s
TV Award special, which was broadcast live at the Royal Albert
Hall in 2003.

Working with internationally renowned dance and circus director,
Micha Bergesse, Cirque Bijou brought together aerial artists,
fire performers and pyrotechnicians to create a choreographed
7 minute show to open the broadcast, in conjunction with the
Shaolin Monks. The show was conceived with Micha Bergesse and
rehearsed at 3 Mills studio, with liaison with the shows producers.
The final rehearsals were held at the Royal Albert Hall. Specialist
aerial equipment was created for the venue, and detailed discussions
were held with rigging specialists.
Aerial rope artists and bungee performers dropped from a 14
metre high aerial platform suspended in the Albert Hall, to
perform a four minute aerial show. This was followed by fire,
stilt, and human pyrotechnic performances, with additional pyrotechnics
provided by Pains Fireworks.
