Artsdepot is an arts centre in North Finchley in London with a mixed programme of dance, music, theatre and comedy. Artsdepot asked Cirque Bijou for a family show with a difference that could run over the last weekend of half term.

Cirque Bijou created a space themed show that appealed to children and adults alike. Rob Laver, ping pong juggler extraordinaire, compered the show which included the Gandini jugglers, acrobalance act In the Balance, the beautiful Crystalline Serpentine Dance and a fantastic finale with fire show Fuse. Various acts were also supported by Cirque Bijou’s VJ (video jockey) who mixed live and recorded footage of the acts in real time. Cirque Bijou also provided marketing and audience development support and assisted with the publicity and press activity surrounding the show.
The show completely sold out (the first show ever to do so at artsdepot) and artsdepot were thrilled with the audience response (see below for what audience members said about the show). Cirque Bijou and artsdepot now plan to work together for future shows and we now hope to develop a touring show especially for theatre spaces.
“Great show with some really clever props, and video effects. I particularly loved the acrobatic and fire acts. Catch it if you can.”
“Took my family to see this show and we all loved it. The juggling act was truly breathtaking and the compere was hysterical. At one point he managed to juggle 7 ping pong balls with his mouth. The fire and pyrotechnic finale was also pretty remarkable. 5 stars from us.”
“Really great show some really beautiful circus acts and some sophisticated video and lighting effects. I particularly enjoyed the aerial act - it made a nice change from the more traditional circuses on the circuit. It's the first show in ages that both me and the family enjoyed together.”
