Cirque Bijou was commissioned by Full Circle to develop aerial performance and a circus entertainment programme for the public launch of the new £400 million retail development in Belfast City Centre and a light and fire spectacle for the VIP launch show the evening before the public launch event.
Working closely with Full Circle and its choreographers and music directors on the public launch, Cirque Bijou choreographed a team of 7 aerialist, including silks, and aerial straps to work in the 35M diameter, 45M high central glass dome.
To complement the launch show, Cirque Bijou created a day long programme of street theatre and circus.
To create the VIP launch Cirque Bijou worked with video artists and producers Fadus to add indoor pyrotechnics, human pyrotechnics, aerialist, glow poi swinging, dance, and angle grinding.
The public launch attracted thousands of local people to the public launch at 10am, treating them to spectacular show with break dance, silks, aerial straps, drumming, and a show by the Tap Dogs.
The VIP launch, was performed to members of the northern Ireland Cabinet including Martin McGuiness and Dr Ian Paisley. The show incorporated video, pyrotechnics, dance, light swinging. Cirque Bijou also created a supporting programme of circus performance including light juggling, and the white lights stilt performance.
