UK School Games Opening Ceremony

To create an opening ceremony show for the opening of the UK School Games competition.

The event was planned for Bath rugby ground, with very little lead up time and  a brief of ensuring no damage to the pitch, as the opening game of the season would be happening the day after.

Working with the Games producers, Fast Track, Cirque Bijou worked with aerial crane choreographer Bethan Jennings, pyrotechnicians from Pains Fireworks, and riggers from Impact Artists to devise a low environmental impact but high visual impact show.

A 20 minute circus and pyrotechnic spectacle that included 5 person aerial crane performance at over 20 metres above the ground, german wheel, human pyrotechnics, aerial straps, large theatrical pyrotechnics, and fire performance.

The show was performed to 4,500 young competitors, VIP’s and friends and family.
