The Brief

Working closely with the award winning international event organiser, Jack Morton Worldwide, Cirque Bijou was commissioned to create a two-minute piece of original circus theatre for the live media launch of the Saab concept car, the Aero X.

The Process

Cirque Bijou worked with Jack Morton offices in the USA on the initial artistic concepts of the show based around a set created from ice. From these initial discussions Cirque bijou brought in artists from the Netherlands to create new acrobatic choreography with a narrative based on the journey of a lone female driver in an icy wilderness.

Original music was created for the performance and on-site rehearsals were held at the Chateau Parc des Eaux Vives, Geneva.

 

The Result

Corpus Acrobatics and Cirque Bijou created a beautiful piece of circus theatre about the journey of young woman driving alone in an icy wilderness. The performance involved the manipulation of a female acrobat by three artists hidden underneath a white cloth. The artist appeared to floating above the material as she moved through the air. The car is finally revealed at the end of her journey behind 2 metre high ice walls.
